- Barry Corbin has been cast as Cam’s dad in an upcoming episode. Corbin will play Merle Tucker, who’s quite the opposite of Cam’s overly touchy-feely mother (Celia Weston) is described as a solid, masculine, Midwestern, gruff guy. - Sarah Hyland’s (Haley Dunphy) real-life boyfriend, High School Musical 3‘s Matt Prokop, will guest star on Modern Family as Haley’s love interest. Prokop will play Ethan, the nephew of one of Claire’s friends. Described as a stand-up kid, Ethan is moving to town to go to college and Claire thought it couldn’t hurt to introduce him to Hayley (Hyland). Source
