We are in the eve, well actually less than a week away, from Glee’s “Goodbye” episode, which will feature our deeply beloved glee club members saying their farewell to high school (I know not all of them are graduating).
Recently we haven’t been posting much about Glee, for reasons that are not important to comment here, but this event is so important that I decided to write something to share with you.
We’ve been watching Glee since the very beginning, and since that time we became gleeks, we watched every episode, listen to every song, travel to see the first summer tour… Then as many fans we became confused with the show’s direction, the many guest stars, the lack of continuity… we lost some interest in it, we kept watching but we weren’t as passionate about it. Still we never stop caring about them, we never stop caring about the glee club members.
I watched “Props” and “Nationals” earlier today and I got to admit it made me a little bit nostalgic. The whole setting up to a big moment, to a moment that will mean the end of a wonderful journey that we share with them for the past 3 years, the moment to say goodbye.
Watching them achieve their dream of winning Nationals, seeing them shine, seeing them happy, seeing them finally win was fulfilling to them and to us as well. They finally got what they wanted and that was amazing but even more wonderful was their journey to get there.
I guess what I want to say is thank you. Thank you Rachel, Finn, Quinn, Puck, Artie, Tina, Kurt, Mercedes, Santana, Brittany, Mike. Thank you for taking us along with you this past 3 years, it has been fun, frustrating, exciting, dramatic, happy, sad… It has been joyful, it has been GLEEFULL!
No matter what’s to come this means a goodbye to high school for many of them, but it also means a goodbye to all of them being together. And no matter some of them are leaving and some of them are staying it is an end. The end of something wonderful and the beginning of new stories. Just sit back and enjoy.
Good luck to you all!
