´Gleekly´Dose – News from Dec 9th to Dec 12th

So Glee is on hiatus for about seven weeks until we get to watch a new episode on Feb 6th, the much anticipated post superbowl episode. In the meantime that does not mean there will not be any Glee related news (probably less but still some). So here we will be posting any news, videos, photos (etc) that we think you might find enjoyable.

  • Heather Morris will not play the new Buffy. Warner Bros. has denied this rumor saying that they are not even thinking about casting yet, they haven´t even written the script for the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. Source

  • Cory Monteith and Matthew Morrison made it to Cosmo´s Hottest Guys of 2010. Source

Dec. 10th:

  • Glee production halted due to tonsillitis outbreak. EW reported that due to several members of the cast coming down with tonsillitis, production had to be canceled for today.  They are currently filming the post superbowl episode and were schedule to do one of the biggest musical numbers on location this evening. However production will resume on Monday and the big musical number planned for tonight will be rescheduled for January. Get well soon! Source

  • TV Guide Canada has apologized for misquoting Ed O´Neill in regards to comments he made about Jane Lynch´s Emmy win for her role as Sue Sylvester on Glee. Read more

  • Glee stars will salute Barbra Streisand as The Recording Academy´s MusiCares Person of the Year during the all star-fundraising dinner on Feb. 11th, where artists like Tony Bennett, Stevie Wonder and Kristin Chenoweth will perform. Appearing will be Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Darren Criss. Source

  • Heather Morris and Naya Rivera are feature in the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Premiering Dec. 10 at 8 AM on the Hallmark Channel.   • Remember that Academy Award winner Javier Bardem was supposed to be a guest star on Glee this season? Well it seems we will have to wait a bit longer and according to Bardem this is not his fault. “I want to do it. I want to do it,” he told E! Online. “I told Ryan several times I want to play this heavy metal rock ‘n’ roll star, but I don’t think he has the guts to do it. No, of course he does — because I sing really bad. I think that’s the whole point.” “We had a blast figuring out what I could be…but I haven’t received any script,” Bardem said. “So when am I appearing on Glee? I don’t know.” The original pitch was that he would team up with Artie… that sounds interesting, I guess we will have to wait and see if this happens. Source

  • Glee´s Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are nominated for best writing on a television series for the WGA (The Writers Guild of America). Joining them in the same category are: 30 Rock, Modern Family, Nurse Jackie, and The Office. Source

  • Tate Donovan (aka ex Jimmy Cooper on The OC, also former cast of Damages) has signed on to direct this season´s 12th episode (the first one after the Super Bowl). Source

  • An article about the positive impact of a television character like Kurt. Even though Kurt have been the main focus on Glee lately and has brought some fans to a little exhaustion, we can´t deny that Kurt has a positive impact on kids today mainly for stating that it is okay to be yourself (which is true!). Dec. 9th:

  • Glee cast marks a milestone on Billboard Charts. They have become the second act in the Billboard Hot 100´s 52-year history to total at least 100 chart entries. They are only behind the King Elvis Presley who has 108 appearances. Source

  • The most wonderful day of the year show version featuring Dianna Agron

  • Dianna Agron parted ways with manager Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin and with Gersh Agency after disagreements over her career. She is now represented by agent Thor Bradwell at William Morris Endeavor. Source
