  • Oscar-nominated actress Elisabeth Shue has been tapped to replace the CBS procedural CSI’s longtime leading lady Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows), who is set to exit the series in January. Shue joins the team as a fresh-out-of-anger-management CSI who may or may not have been fired by Ted Danson’s D.B. Russell back at their previous precinct in Seattle. Source
  • The writers of the Dana Delany drama ABC’s Body of Proof will spin their own Casey Anthony-type tale about a young woman named Hillary Stone who is acquitted for murdering her son. The action will begin on the day Hillary is released from prison. Marcia Gay Harden has been cast as Sheila Temple, a Nancy Grace-like “journalist” who has doggedly reported the story of Hillary’s case. The show also cast Rita Wilson to play Hillary’s mom Ruth.   • Showtime announced that Dexter has been renewed for two seasons,the drama’s seventh and eighth seasons. Dexter, which is currently two-thirds of the way through Season 6, will begin production on its 12-episode Season 7 in 2012. Source
  • Veronica Mars alum Jason Dohring has landed a plum guest spot on Supernatural. Dohring will play Chronos, the God of Time, in this season’s 12th episode. Source
  • Cougar Town’s episode order has been reduced from 22 to 15 episodes this season. the Courteney Cox series does not have a premiere date yet. Source
