  • Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm direct the Emmy winning drama’s fifth season premiere. Source
  • Martin Short and Aidan Quinn are joining the seventh season of Showtime’s Weeds, Short will guest-star an eccentric attorney in at least three episodes, while Quinn will play a charismatic investment firm CEO in at least four episodes. Source
  • Nickelodeon has picked up a third season of the hit live-action comedy Big Time Rush. The series chronicles the adventures and misadventures of four best friends from Minnesota who move to Los Angeles and trade in their hockey sticks and parkas for a chance at music stardom. Source
  • Showtime has renewed dark comedy series Nurse Jackie for a fourth season. Meanwhile, comedy United States of Tara is being canceled after three seasons. Source
  • Pretty Little Liars won the Cast to Watch Award at Young Hollywood Awards ceremony at L.A.’s Club Nokia — airing May 26 on ION Television (9/8c). Grey’s Anatomy Jesse Williams and Friday Night Lights Aimee Teegarden won the TV Actor and Actress of The Year awards, respectively. Source

  • Showtime’s Weeds has tapped the hilarious and underrated Lindsay Sloane (Bring It On, Grosse Pointe) to join the cast as a love interest for Justin Kirk’s character. Sloane will play Maxeen, a quirky conceptual artist in New York who takes a liking to Andy. Source
