  • Hilarie Burton will join the cast of White Collar full-time as a series regular next season. The former One Tree Hill star has recurred on the USA show since the beginning of Season 2, where she plays Sara Ellis, an insurance company investigator who once testified against Neal (Matt Bomer).   • Former Charmed witch Rose McGowan, who played the bewitching Paige on the long-running WB hit, will guest star on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU.Our episode is called Bombshell and Rose McGowan is the ultimate bombshell,” SVU executive producer Neal Baer told TV Guide. “Rose plays a grifter named Cassandra who strikes swinging men who frequent sex clubs. And we’re very excited to have her.”. Sons of Anarchy‘s Ryan Hurst will also guest star in the episode. Source
  • Smallville will air its two-hour series finale on Friday, May 13. The finale “will send Clark soaring towards his birthright to secure his place in history as the world’s greatest protector,” according to the press release. Source
  • Will & Grace’s Debra Messing is close to landing a lead role in NBC’s hour-long musical pilot Smash.The project — from Steven Spielberg, Chicago duo Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, and Hairspray songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman — follows a diverse cast of characters who come together to stage a Broadway show about Marilyn Monroe. The Emmy winner will play Julia, the musical’s good-natured lyricist who is slow to embrace the commercially-iffy subject matter. Source
  • Cougar Town has finalized a deal to shoot its second-season finale on location in Hawaii. Source
  • Nia Vardalos, who in real life is the wife of Ian Gomez, who plays Andy on Cougar Town, will guest star as a woman who just happens to be his brother’s wife. Her character has long harbored a crush on Andy. Source

Ratings Highlights of the Week

  • On Wednesday February 9th, ABC was second for the night, The Middle (8.8 million, 2.6), Better With You (6.8 million, 2.0) hitting a series low, and Modern Family (13.1 million, 5.0) rising 9 percent, and Mr. Sunshine (10.6 million, 3.7); At 10 p.m., Off the Map (5.6 million, 1.9). Still CBS was number one with Paula Abdul’s Live to Dance (7.8 million, 0.9), Criminal Minds (14.3 million, 3.7) up 16 percent from its last original, and Blue Bloods (12.5 million, 2.3). Source
  • On Sunday February 6th,  2011, Super Bowl XLV stands as the most watched program in TV history with an audience of 111 million viewers. However, Glee was seen by 26.8 million viewers and had an 11.1 adults 18-49 rating. Despite plenty of promotion, Glee was down 31 percent from Undercover Boss, which CBS premiered after last year’s game. Source
