- Life Unexpected’s Brittany Robertson has been cast in The CW’s promising supernatural pilot Secret Circle. Secret Circle is based on a series of books by author L.J. Smith about a young woman who moves to a new town and discovers that not only is she a witch and part of a secret coven, but she’s also the key that will unlock a centuries-old battle of good versus evil. Although The CW has not yet decided the final fate of Life Unexpected, the project is in second position to the new pilot. Source
- Law & Order star Jesse L. Martin will return to TV with a lead role in Marc Cherry’s drama pilot for ABC Hallelujah. The project, which features musical elements, is set in the town of Hallelujah, Tenn., which is being torn apart by the forces of good and evil and whose fortunes change when a stranger comes to town, bringing justice, peace and possibly restoring. He will play a mysterious, charming drifter who crosses paths with the newcomer. Source
- Former Men in Trees and Mercy actor James Tupper will reprise his role as psych doc (and love interest to Kim Raver’s Teddy) Andrew Perkins this spring for a multi-episode arc on Grey’s Anatomy. He will appear in three episodes toward the end of this season. Source
- American Idol alumna-turned-actress Katharine McPhee has landed a co-starring role in the NBC hourlong pilot Smash. McPhee will play a beautiful struggling actress who goes to all lengths to book the role of Marilyn Monroe in the musical. Also recently cast in the pilot, written by Theresa Rebeck and to be directed by Michael Mayer, are Jack Davenport and Megan Hilty. Debra Messing has previously joined the project. Source
