TV News: ‘Friends’ Matt LeBlanc returns to television in ‘Episodes’

Most of us first heard about Matt LeBlanc in the mid 90’s when he was one of the actors of the highly popular TV sitcom ‘Friends’. Now following the steps of his fellow ‘Friends’ costars he is returning to television. Courteney Cox is currently on ABC’s ‘Cougar Town’ which recently had Jennifer Aniston as a guest star and Matthew Perry is returning to tv this season as well with ‘Mr Sunshine’.

LeBlanc leads  the cast for the Showtime/BCC collaboration ‘Episodes’, in which he plays himself. The show is a half hour comedy that revolves around his return to the small screen as and actor on an adaptation of a hit British TV show (despite the initial reservations of the show’s creator).

The comedy is co-written by ‘Friends’ co-creator David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik.

We have to mention that after ‘Friends’ Matt LeBlanc did the spinoff ‘Joey’ with much little success with the audience (let’s face it, it was ‘Friends’ with only one friend… not nearly as funny). He even brings his self-referential humor to the role saying “I need this to be a hit — at least something they can’t make fun of on a talk show.”

We just have to wait till January and see if ‘Episodes’ will bring the former ‘Friends’ star more tv success or will it be just a small episode in his tv career.

Here is the trailer of this new show. Let us know if you’ll be watching ‘Episodes’ when it premieres on January 9 (9.:30/8:30c on Showtime).
