CBS has renewed the highly successful comedy series The Big Bang Theory for three more seasons. This means that the Warner Bros- TV-produced sitcom will continue on the network through the 2013-14 season.
The Big Bang Theory premiered on CBS on September 24th back in 2007. They have won multiple awards including Best Comedy Series from the TCA (Television Critics Association) and Individual achievement in comedy for Jim Parsons in 2009. And in 2010 the show won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Comedy series, while Parsons won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
Their performance in the ratings have been getting better and better every year. Specially during their third season when they exploded in the ratings behind Two and a Half Men. Even this year, they migrated to Thursday night and are now the top-rated series on the most lucrative night of television.
