Nominations for the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Thursday, July 10, 2014. Game of Thrones (19 nominations), Fargo (18 nominations), American Horror Story: Coven (17 nominations), Breaking Bad and The Normal Heart (16 nominations each) lead the Emmy Awards.
New shows like Orange Is The New Black (12 nominations) and True Detective (12 nominations) made a huge impact in the award nominations.
Last year’s comedy series winner Modern Family received 10 nominations, including comedy series, which the show has won 4 times consecutively. If the show wins this years, it will tie the record set by Frasier for most wins (even consecutively) by a series (drama or comedy) with 5 wins.
Winners will be revealed during on Monday, August 25th 2014 in a ceremony from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles beginning at 5:00 pm PT and airing live on NBC.
