Award Shows: Downton Abbey and Mildred Pierce Lead in TV with 4 nods each at Golden Globes Awards 2012; Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, and Modern Family among most nominated TV Shows with 3 nods each

Sofia Vergara, Woody Harrelson, Rashida Jones and Gerard Butler announced this year’s nominees in 25 categories for movies and television.

On the drama side, HBO’s Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire, Showtime’s Homeland,FX’s American Horror Stor, and Starz’ Boss were nominated for best series. The best comedy series nominees wer Fox’s Glee and New Girl, ABC’s Modern Family, Showtime’s Episodes and HBO’s Enlightened.

Downton Abbey and Mildred Pierce received the most nominations with 4 nominations each including mini-series or motion picture. Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Modern Family, Cinema Verite, The Hour, and Too Big To Fail, followed with 3 nominations each.
